July 21, 1969 A.D.:  Man Walks On God's Moon!

I'm not going to exactly apologize for how this account turned out.  But I almost feel like I ought to.  I was just exploring the events and circumstances surrounding our reaching the moon because it seems like a cardinal event in the history of humanity and certainly we couldn't have done it if God hadn't allowed it or even helped us.  But, there are just so many odd rabbit trails that I've run into and followed as I researched this account that it ended going everywhere into unrelated seeming sorts of subjects; yet so many of them turned out to be oddly interesting that I'm just going to leave all that strange stuff in there and let people enjoy it if they enjoy it, or shake their head if they don't.  In the end, I decided that it seemed that the fingerprints of God were all over the entire Apollo 11 mission, but I couldn't decide if the Holy Father approved of it or not.  It ended up being a lot of writing and a lot of inconclusiveness, at least for me.  But I learned some strange things!  "Such as....?" I will pretend you asked.

Well, to start out...three astronauts were chosen for NASA's Apollo 11 mission, and on that mission a craft called the Eagle detached from the Apollo 11 orbital vessal Columbia and landed upon the surface of the moon.  Men got out of the Eagle and walked upon God's moon for the first time, and the United States was the nation allowed by God to first accomplish this interesting feat.  Whatever it means, it's a part of the American heritage.  And I personally can't really tell if it is a bad thing or a good thing - there are a lot of strange associations with it.  Many involve the names of false gods, and since the moon seems to have so many associations with Jesus, is it good to go there uninvited?  It was an amazing technical achievement though, for lowly humans.

A metallic plate tied to the lunar landing module said:  "Here men from the planet Earth first set foot upon the moon.  July, 1969 A.D.  We came in peace for all mankind."  It was signed by President Richard Nixon and the three astronauts who were on the Apollo 11 mission. It is still on the moon.

"We came in peace for all mankind".  That's a very good description of what Jesus did also, isn't it?  He is called the 'Prince of Peace', right?  He came for 'all mankind', right?

21 and change hours were spent on the moon, and 21 and change days in quarantine (they did not know for sure whether there were microbes on the moon) when they returned home.  21 = 7+7+7

Seven is a number of holiness, many eschatologists say.  In Revelation, Jesus speaks through John to 7 churches.  Elsewhere, God's word is like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified 7 times, scripture says.

The moon, only a created thing and not a thing to be worshiped, never the less has many facets to its design which speak of Jesus.  For instance, it circles the Earth at a distance of 30 Earth diameters, some sources say.  Jesus was betrayed for 30 pieces of silver.   All three Apollo 11 astronauts were born in 1930.  30...1930.  The astronauts have a connection with that number 30, though I don't mean to suggest any relation between them and Judas, but merely to them and the number 30, which seems to relate to Jesus.

Consider the number 144,000 (the number of those specially dedicated to Jesus, virgins, redeemed as first fruits from among men, and having the Father's name written on their forehead, Rev Chap14).  Divide that number by 2,160 (the moons diameter, which some sources give as 2,160 miles) and you get 66.66 66 66 66 66 66 .....  What is strange is that the number 66 in scripture seems to nearly always be associated with Jesus and those who are saved or rescued by the Father, the Son, or the Holy Spirit, often at the last possible moment!  There are 66 Books of the Protestant Bible, and it rescues the souls of men, right?  There are 66 Chapters in Isaiah, which is called the 'Little Bible' by some.  66 people fled their famine ravaged land and came along with Jacob (also named Israel) to be received by Jacob's son Joseph into Egypt.  The Christians fled Jerusalem in A.D. 66, running for their lives, and it is said that no Christians were inside the walls of Jerusalem in A.D. 70 when the Romans destroyed that city.  They had all fled back in '66!  There are 66 joints in the human feet, (feet represented the end times kingdom in Nebuchadnezzar's nightmare of the metallic colossus, as interpreted in the Book of Daniel by Daniel) so perhaps symbolically feet are associated with the end times of man and the second coming of Jesus, when the Church is saved.

On to other moon qualities:  the moon doesn't emit light, it reflects it.  Jesus didn't invent words, He spoke only the words His Father gave Him to speak, He said.  In that respect, He 'reflected' His Father's views, and repeated His Father's words.

The moon is greatly marred (cratered).  Jesus was beaten to a pulp before being crucified for mankind.

Here's an oddity I noticed when looking at the year 1930.  Buzz Aldrin was born on January 20, 1930.  Since 1937 this date, January 20th, is Inauguration Day for newly elected or re-elected United States Presidents (unless it falls on a Sunday, as with Eisenhower and Reagan).  In almost all cases, they swear in on the Bible, the Word of God.

As it so happened, the first episode of the Lone Ranger aired on WXYZ radio on that date, (some sources say it was in 1933 on this date, but most that I was able to find said it was in 1930 on this date.)   I just sort of noticed that when I was doing research for this account, and meandered that way and read a little about that for no particular reason, and I began to be a little surprised.  Some of the Lone Ranger details seemed interestingly Christ-like.  I liked watching the Lone Ranger as a boy, but of course never thought about that then.  The Lone Ranger ran for about 60 years on radio and TV, affecting to at least a small degree a very great number of American boys and girls.

The 'Lone Ranger' had a strict moral code.  He acknowledged our common maker.  His character rode a white horse named SILVER and fired only SILVER bullets from his gun.  Silver relates to Jesus as the Word of God in some respects:  "The promises of the Lord are sure, like tried silver, freed from dross, seven fold refined."   Psalm 12:7 New American Bible.  Or "The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times." Psalm 121:6 New King James Bible.    Jesus' silver words were meant to stop 'bad guys'.  The Lone Ranger only shoots to wound, not to kill.  Jesus spoke to wound the conscience of the 'bad guys' that He spoke to, allowing them to repent.

Jesus is seen on a white horse by John in the Book of Revelation.  "Now I saw heaven opened, an behold, a white horse.  And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.  His eyes were like flames of fire, and on His head were many crowns.  He had a name written on Him that no one knew except himself.  He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called the Word of God."  Rev 19:11-13

The Lone Ranger's name is Reid, which means Red.  A legend holds that Jesus had red hair, and he is seen by some as being associated with....foreshadowed by.... the Red Heifer spoken of in the Bible in the Laws of Moses.  He was one of 6 Rangers ambushed by a bad guy's gang, 5 rangers were killed and he was left for dead.  An American Indian named Tonto (who's life this Ranger had once saved) found him and nursed him back to health, afterwards becoming his partner in bringing justice to the needy.  They dig 6 graves (so that the bad guy will think all 6 rangers died, not just 5.  That way he won't try to hunt down Reid, the convalescing survivor.  So, there is an empty grave, as with Jesus.)  The Lone Ranger wore a mask so that He wouldn't be recognized,  Jesus was God disguised as a man, in a certain sense, because He was God made flesh.

Tonto (which means 'fool' in Spanish) first showed up in the 12th radio episode one source I read said, so this helper of the Lone Ranger is associated with the number 12, just as there were 12 Apostles.  Tonto was supposed to be from the Potawatomi tribe.  That name, if you look it up, means "Keepers of the Fire".  Do you remember how tongues of fire (the Holy Spirit) alighted upon the heads of the Apostles at Pentacost?  So, they became 'Keepers of the Fire', in a sense.  Tonto referred to the Lone Ranger as Kee-mo-sah-bee which, according to the script of the show, meant 'faithful scout'.  That is what Joshua was in the Bible, in his younger years, a scout, when he was one of the ones who spied out the promised land for Moses.  Joshua is essentially the same name as Jesus in Hebrew.  Tonto's horse was named Scout.

Tonto means 'fool'?  Consider the following, written by the Apostle Paul from 1 Corinthians 4:10   :

8 Already you have all you want! Already you have become rich! You have begun to reign—and that without us! How I wish that you really had begun to reign so that we also might reign with you! 9 For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like those condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to human beings. 10 We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, we are dishonored! 11 To this very hour we go hungry and thirsty, we are in rags, we are brutally treated, we are homeless. 12 We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it; 13 when we are slandered, we answer kindly. We have become the scum of the earth, the garbage of the world—right up to this moment.

So, the word 'Tonto' is associated with '12' and 'fool', and 'keepers of the fire'.  And the Apostles were associated with the '12' and 'fool', and 'keepers of the fire (of the Holy Spirit.)

The name of the 'bad guy' that tried to kill the rangers?  Bartolomo 'Butch' Cavendish.

So, if the Lone Ranger has some strange parallels to Jesus, who was killed by the Jews, Does Bartolomo 'Butch' Cavendish have parallels to the Jews?  Well, oddly 'Butch', if you look up the name, is a nick name for the English name Bert, and they say it means 'illustrious' and 'butcher'.   The Jewish history was quite 'illustrious' because of the great miracles God performed on their behalf, and their religion invloved the constant 'butchery' of animals.

The TV show was on the ABC network, and the radio station that first broadcast the show called 'the Lone Ranger' was WXYZ in Detroit.  The very first letters of the alphabet (ABC), and the very last letters of the alphabet (WXYZ).  The Alpha and the Omega of the English alphabet.  Jesus has many names and titles in the Bible.  One is 'the Alpha and the Omega'.

The famous Lone Ranger song is actually named the William Tell overture.  William Tell means (will/desire - helmet/protection) for William, and (reckon/count or hill/mound) for Tell.  He was a real Swiss hero that shot an apple (sometimes a symbol of sin) off of the head of his son without killing his son and then later destroyed (assassinated) the one that had forced him to take that risk.  Does that sound like mankind having the sin removed from himself by Jesus without the sin or the process of removing it killing us?  And then the Jews in Jerusalem are destroyed?

Is it not sort of weird that there are this many odd parallels?  But this is getting out of hand for such a strange digression.  This is about Apollo 11, and the Columbia spaceship.  (Did I mention that Columbia Pictures is supposed to be remaking the Lone Ranger as a movie in 2012?)

There were a few other things, but like I said, I'm not saying it applies. It's just strange.  Yet who knows what God introduces into our societal conscience, and from which sources?

Neil Armstrong was born on August 5, 1930.  Neil was the first man to step foot on this 'new world' - the moon.  His birthday - Aug 5 - is a big day for 'New World' exploration.  In August 5th, 1583 the first English colony in the New World was founded in Newfoundland. Also, in August 5th, 1620 on the date of Neil's birthday, the Mayflower left England for America to form the Plymouth colony in what would become the state of Massachusetts. And, in 1969 on Neil's birthday (he was no longer on the moon) the Mariner 7 probe would make its very closest fly-by pass to the 'new world' called Mars.  So, Neil's birthday, August 5th, is bound up in several ways with visiting 'new worlds'.

Michael Collins was born on Oct 31, 1930.  This date is also both 'All Saints Day' and 'Halloween'.  He was born in Rome, Italy.  He stayed aboard the Columbia (the Apollo 11 mission's spacecraft's name), and did not go down to the surface of the moon on the Eagle.  But his portion of the mission was totally crucial to its success.

Going back to silver for a minute, Silver was, in ancient times, represented by a crescent moon, which is the most commonly seen moon shape. Silver is represented by the symbol Ag, and the root of the word Argenum (from whence we got the 'Ag') means shining or white.  The moon does reflectively shine, it is also almost white.  The most common and stable isotope of silver has an atomic number of 107, by the way, and this Apollo 11 vessel which brought them to the moon was Nasa's spacecraft number 107, as chance would have it.  The words of the Lord are referred to as 'silver, purified 7 times' in scripture.  Jesus is called 'the Word'.

The moon is covered with many a crater, and we are told in the first chapter of the Gospel of John that Jesus was there beside God the Father when everything was made, and in another place we are told that Jesus 'is God'. So Jesus is our 'Creator' then, in a manner of speaking, with His Holy Father.   Crater...creator.  Is the word 'crater' designed to put Jesus and the Father in our mind when we see it?  Probably not, but God did design language, did divide the languages.  He might have wished that certain words would stir up certain connotations in the minds of mankind.

Light takes 1.8 seconds to travel from the moon to the Earth.  Genesis 1.8 says "Let there be light!"  Jesus was referred to as the Light that lights the darkness.  The moon does this.  The moon is very scarred and marred.  Jesus was marred terribly on the day preceding His crucifixion - whipped, beaten, punched in the face, his beard plucked.

Jesus calmed the stormy seas for the frightened Apostles while they were all on a boat on the sea of Galilee.  He made the sea 'Tranquil'.  There is an area of the moon called the Sea of Tranquility, and in fact, that is where this first moon landing occurred.  They splashed back down into the Pacific, which also means 'tranquil' or 'calm'.  They landed about 230 miles south of Johnson Atoll.

The 3 astronauts were as follows, and their names and those of their parents have some pretty interesting meanings when you think about the moon as bringing Jesus to mind, and also think about mankind as being the intended bride of Christ, when you think of how that portion of mankind which has been, is, or will become the Christian church as being the actual bride of Christ.  Here are their name's meanings, or at least one meaning of their names.  Some names show several possible meanings when you look them up

Neil Alden Armstrong:  Cloud, Old Friend, Strong Arm

Edwin Eugene Aldrin:  Rich Friend, Well Born, Old and Wise Ruler

Michael Collins: Who is like God? Dove

Every one of those names have connotations to Jesus, don't they?

The commander of the mission was Neil Alden Armstrong who was of Scott Irish and German descent.  He was born on August 5th, 1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio, USA.  Does "Ohio" sound like "Hi-O" ?("Hi-O Silver" was what the Lone Ranger always said when he took off on his fast horse named Silver) So, Wapakoneta is the birth place of the first man to walk on the moon, the first man to walk on an extraterrestrial surface.

Because Neil was not on his home planet when he walked there, he essentially became the first certainly known 'space alien'.  Buzz Aldrin became the second, I guess.

Neil's parents were Stephen Koenig Armstrong and Viola Louise Engel.

  Neil's Dad's name:

Stephen = Crown (like Jesus wore) , 'that which encompasses' (like an orbit),

  Koenig= King

Armstrong = strong arm, strong arms

  Neil's Mother's name:

Viola = A Violet (purple was the 'royal' color.)

Louise = feminine of Louis...Fame and War.

  Engel = angel...messenger.

Armstrong means, as you would expect, strong arm.  The Armstrong clan had once been named the Fairbairns (which means 'fair child') way back in history, but an incident during a battle brought about a change.  A Fairbairn serving as armor bearer to a Scottich king, during a battle, saw his king's horse be killed right out from under the king.  The armor bearer jumped off his own horse, giving it to his king, and then lifted the armor clad king up onto it; that took some 'strong arms'.  Hence forth, the man was called 'armstrong' and was raised in station by that king.  Jesus was the strong right arm of God, so to speak.  The Father has told Him to sit at His right hand until He makes His enemies a foot stool for His feet, right?

This upholder of Scottish kings, this ancient Fairbairn who was renamed Armstrong, was he aiding a king of the Zerahite line of Judah?  Some claims are made that it was through the Zerahite line of Judah, some of whom were Irish, then Scots, then finally English, that God kept His promise to King David that he would always have someone of his line sitting on the throne.  The Zerahites had split off, in part, from the other Israelites, from the rival Judaic royal line of Pharez, and traveled to far away places where some of them became kings.  So the story goes.  And in Jeremiah's time, when the last male descendant of David through Solomon, King Zedekiah, was deposed by Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, David's royal line seemed ended.  But an extra-Biblical story holds that Jeremiah took some of Zedekiah's daughters to first Egypt, then Ireland and married one named Tea Tephi to an Irish high king named Heremon of the line of Judah through Judah's somewhat mysterious son Zerah.  That's an old legend, not much of it comes from the Bible, and it may be untrue.  But, it's interesting!

Jesus is seen on a 'cloud' in Revelation.

In Psalm 83, the Psalmist is speaking of the great attributes of the Lord when he says:

Psalm 89:13   "Your arm is endowed with power; your hand is strong, your right hand is exalted."

But later in Psalm 83, v. 35 - 37, when God is speaking through the Psalmist, God says:

"Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness - and I will not lie to David - that his line will continue forever and his throne endure before me like the sun; it will be established forever like the moon, that faithful witness in the sky."

Proverbs 31 is about the wife of noble character.  It describes the attributes of a truly wonderful wife, or bride.  Since the church is the 'bride of Christ', we can probably assume that we Christians are supposed to have these same sort of attributes.  But, among other things, this wife is a 'strong armed' woman.

Proverbs 31:17   "She sets about her work vigorously, her arms are strong for her tasks."

When Jesus was baptized, the Spirit in the form of a dove descended upon Him.

Jesus was rich; the Father gave Him all things.  He is both 'ancient' and 'a ruler'.  He is 'like God' , in fact He is God's Son.  Therefore He certainly qualifies as 'well born'.

On Neil Armstrong's mom's side of the family, Engel means simply 'angel' in German.  And angel is a word which means messenger.  Jesus was, among all of the other things, the messenger for the words of the New Covenant.  He said that He spoke only the words that His Father gave Him to speak.  That's what a messenger does, I guess.

So, if the moon is partly symbolic of Jesus, Neil Armstrong was a pretty well qualified first visitor, etymologically!  His own name seems to mean:  Neil (cloud, or champion) Alden (old, old friend), and Armstrong (strong arms).  Clouds belong in the heavens, Jesus is our champion, the one who fights in our place to win for us a battle we could not win ourselves.  He is from the ancient days, and is our strong armed friend as well as our Lord and Savior.  So, planned or not, the names sort of fit for Neil Armstrong.  When the Eagle landed on the moon, Neil was the first astronaut to set foot on the surface.   "Buzz" Aldrin was the second.

Buzz was called Buzz because a younger sister just learning to talk, used to call him her 'bruzzer' when he was growing up, and it just got shortened to 'Buzz' and stuck.  His real name was Edwin Eugene Aldrin II.  Buzz was plucked out of the ocean, once they landed in the Pacific, by the U.S. Navy's USS Hornet.  All three astronauts were.  But Buzz being picked up by a Hornet is sort of ironic, right?  Actually helicopters brought them to the ship.

His mother's name, of all things, was Marion Moon.  Marion can mean 'bitter', 'from the sea', or 'from the family of Mary', some sources said.  Jesus was definitely from the family of Mary, right?  Could Buzz also have been an ancient descendant of the family of Mary, Jesus' mother, or of Mary Magdalene?  That we will probably never be able to tell.  But Jesus did have brothers and sisters, the scripture says.  Could they have been ancestors, do you suppose?  That's all complete speculation, of course.  But the Moon part of his mother's name...her maiden surname...pretty fitting, you have to admit!!  Her father was an army chaplain.

The original meaning of the word 'moon' now appears to be lost, but seems to have a root that corresponded to 'measuring'.  The moon does measure time.  Apparently the word 'month' is related to the word 'moon'.

Buzz Aldrin did a very interesting thing while on the moon; he had brought a communion kit with him, prepared by the pastor of his church.  So, while aboard the Eagle, sitting on the surface of the moon, Buzz Aldrin took communion.  He drank the communion wine, and ate the communion bread.  He partook of the body and blood of Jesus Christ on an entirely new planet (planetoid?).  And he read a scripture aloud:  "I am the vine, you are the branches.  Who so ever abides in me will bring forth much fruit." That is from John 15:5

He attended the Webster Presbyterian Church in Webster Texas.  Rev. Dean Woodruff presided.  Their church still commemorates the event each year on the Sunday closest to the July 20 date of the Apollo 11 landing.  The church still possesses the chalice used by Aldrin on the moon.

While the US astronauts were sleeping in the Eagle after their moon walk it so happened that an unmanned Soviet craft called the Luna 15 tried to land on another part of the moon, but it unfortunately crashed.  The race to be first to land on the moon was very competitive!

On the way back Buzz Aldrin prayed the following prayer from space during a television broadcast to Earth, from Psalm 8 (8 is considered Jesus' number by some):

3 When I consider your heavens,
   the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?[c]

The Apollo 11 took 2 American flags with them, and a flag from the Vatican State in Italy.  One American flag is in the House of Representatives, one is in the U.S. Senate.  The Vatican has their flag on display.

I have to make mention that it bothers me that all of these crafts were given the name of false Gods.  Lots of the missile and spacecraft naming was like that.  'Titan' missiles, 'Apollo' rockets.  'Saturn' rockets.  It is the false idol worship connotations that make me wonder if God was not possibly displeased in some ways by our visit to His moon, though He allowed us to land there.  It would be like having your son become a Nascar driver and seeing the name of your worst enemy on his car when you went to watch the race.

Apollo 11...the first moon landing.  Genesis.....the first Book of the Bible.  So, out of curiosity, what is Genesis chapter 11 about?

1 Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. 2 As people moved eastward,[a] they found a plain in Shinar[b] and settled there.

3 They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. 4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”

5 But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. 6 The LORD said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”  End quote.

Now read something written about the construction of Complex 39, which is the NASA launch complex constructed to be the lift off area of Apollo 11.  The whole area cost nearly $500,000,000.00, quite a sum in 1969:

At last everything was coming together - all those elements that had been committed piecemeal - the command module in Apollo 7, the first manned flight away from the bonds of Earth in Apollo 8, the flying of the lunar module with men on board in Apollo 9, and then Apollo 10, which went to the Moon and did everything short of landing. It all led up to that hot July morning in 1969, when Apollo's moment of truth was irreversibly upon us.

Uncounted things had to be done before we reached that moment. Before the operational phase even began, we had to pass through the conceptualization and construction phase, remembering something Jim Webb once said, "The road to the Moon will be paved by bricks and steel and concrete here on Earth." For Apollo we had to build Complex 39 at a cost of half a billion dollars, that is, we had to finish Stage Zero, before we could proceed to Stage One, the flying of the birds.

Isn't it amazing that part of Genesis 11 is about man's effort to make bricks and construct a tower that would reach to the heavens?  And Apollo 11 is what eventually actually did that?  By the way, Nimrod's queen Semiramus appears to have been the source of the goddess name Columbia, and many say that the godess from the statue of Liberty is a representation of Semiramis, or the godess Columbia.  The word Columbia is related to Dove.  Both Doves and Pigeons bear the Latin name Columbidae as I recall.  As for Nimrod's intention of building a tower that was capable of 'reaching the heavens', God did not allow it back then in that ancient day when Nimrod rebeled against God's commands to man to disperse and form colonies.  It was the event that convinced God to divide men's languages so that they would not be able to cooperate on such projects as the Tower of Babel, which was meant to thwart God's will.

And the basis for the success for the Apollo 11 mission was the foundation provided by 'complex 39'.  How odd that there are 39 books in the Protestant Bible (the Protestant Old Testament), and then we reach Jesus.  Reaching Jesus (in the first Gospel, the book of Matthew, the Bible's 40th book) is preceded by the completion of the 39 foundational Old Testament books.  Launching Apollo 11 to the moon was preceded by the completion of NASA complex 39.

There are 24 elders seated before the throne of God, the Bible tells us in the Book of Revelation.  America has sent 24 astronauts to the moon.  There were 12 Apostles that walked with Jesus.  There are 12 American astronauts that have walked upon the moon:  Armstrong, Irwin, Conrad, Bean, Shepard, Mitchell, Scott, Irwin, Young, Duke, Cernan, and Schmitt.

Unlike the explorers of ages past, the United States did not claim the moon for itself, but....it is true that astronaut and Scottish Rite Mason Buzz Aldrin of the Grand Lodge of Texas, Clear Lake Lodge 1417 of Seabrook Texas, was given special 'deputation authority' by Grand Master Guy Smith to er...uhmmm....well, claim Masonic Territorial Jurisdiction over God's moon for the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Texas. Lodge 1417?  Seabrook is near to a lake and near to the sea.   Is that number 1417 significant?  Maybe, or maybe not.  Here is Book 1 of the New Testament (Matthew), Chapter 4, and the verses around verse 17:

12 When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he withdrew to Galilee. 13 Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali— 14 to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:

15 “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali,
the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan,
    Galilee of the Gentiles—
16 the people living in darkness
    have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
    a light has dawned.”[f]

17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

End Quote

The light that shines in the darkness?  Well, the moon for one thing.  And they lived by the sea?  The Lodge is named Seabrook.

Any other connections?  How about Psalm 14, which has only verses 1 - 7:

Psalm 14

For the director of music. Of David.

The fool[a] says in his heart,
    “There is no God.”
They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;
there is no one who does good.

The Lord looks down from heaven
    on all mankind
to see if there are any who understand,
    any who seek God.
All have turned away, all have become corrupt;
there is no one who does good,
    not even one.

Do all these evildoers know nothing?

They devour my people as though eating bread;
they never call on the Lord.
But there they are, overwhelmed with dread,
for God is present in the company of the righteous.
You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor,
but the Lord is their refuge.

Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
When the Lord restores his people,
let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!

End Quote

Notice how it speaks of how the Lord looks down from heaven?  The moon does that...in a way.

So, they told Buzz Aldrin to claim the moon for the Seabrook Lodge near Houston, Texas.  This he reportedly did, as well as taking a Masonic cloth to the moon and bringing it back.  I don't have much to offer by way of comment on this particular facet of the first manned moon landing, except to say that Texas already holds sovereignty over so many acres that it seems kind of .....oh, I don't know, almost presumptuous and greedy.  But I suppose someone on Earth was eventually going to claim the moon.  The Seabrook Texas Grand Masonic Lodge just happened to be the first entity to identify itself as the lucky properly deserving recipient of this 'just listed' property.  The Lone Star State is also the lone state that owns a moon, I would guess.

Cool moon stuff, huh?  There seems to be a lot of God's finger prints on this Apollo 11 mission.  That would figure, wouldn't it?  Well, one thing I am sure of:  if man successfully visited the moon, it's because God allowed him to, because our God is almighty and sovereign.  He was, is, and always will be.  Our God is immeasurably mighty, and all together wonderful.
