2012 A.D.:  DNA Proclaims the Difference Between Sheep and Goats!

Jesus came as the Lamb of God to take away the sins of the world.  But for 30 pieces of silver, He was betrayed by His own Apostle Judas to the Jewish government of His day, who rejected the notion that Jesus was the long-awaited Messiah.  They crucified Jesus, but through that dark act all men now have a chance at salvation.  Some say that this took place in 30 A.D., though the crucifixion date is very contested even among knowledgeable eschatologists.

Jesus taught about a New Covenant which, unlike the Laws given to Moses, actually could save a man.  It was said that no one could perfectly follow the laws given to Moses.  So, the New Covenant was offered to the world, eventually incorporated into printed form in the New Testament portion of the Bible with its 27 books.

Jesus sits at the Holy Father's side now, waiting as the Father 'makes Jesus' enemies a foot stool for Jesus' feet'.  And when it is time, all men will be judged by Jesus.  As scripture puts it, the Sheep (the accepted followers of Jesus Christ, who have accepted the New Covenant agreement between God and lowly man, and gratefully accepted Jesus' righteousness as their own) will be separated out to one side.  And the Goats (those who betrayed, rejected, or opposed Jesus as their Lord) will be separated out to the other side.  The Sheep will know salvation, and the Goats will not.

So, it is interesting that sheep, the animal used to typify those who accept the New Covenant spoken of in the 27 books of the New Testament, have 27 pairs of chromosomes.

And goats, the animal which scripture uses to typify those who betray, reject, or oppose Jesus as their Lord (Jesus, who was betrayed by Judas for 30 pieces of silver) have 30 pairs of chromosomes.

God's intelligence cannot even be estimated.  It truly cannot!

And a sheep is an interesting choice of animal for our Lord to be compared to (referring to His name as 'the Lamb of God'.)  Jesus came as the Lamb of God and offered us His righteousness in place of our own.  Sheep can cover others with their covering over and over again - wool is renewable!  Not so with most animals.  You can make clothing...a covering...from cow hide, but only one time per cow.  The cow cannot keep giving its skin, but the sheep can keep giving it's wool!

And what of 'dogs', which are among those who will stand 'outside'?  Dogs have 39 pairs of chromosomes, just as the Protestant Bibles have 39 books in the Old Testament, the Testament which spoke of how it went for God's people who lived under the Old Mosaic Covenant, a Covenant which could not save a man because no man could quite keep its requirements.

I know that the Israelites were God's chosen people and still are, and I am in no way calling them dogs, nor do I ever think of them that way.  But the Old Covenant could not save, and those not saved are referred to by several names, including goats, and in another place 'dogs', an animal which happens to have 39 pairs of chromosomes, for whatever reason, if indeed there is any symbolically meaningful reason.  There will certainly be many sorts of people that do not obtain salvation aside from whichever Jews end up rejecting Jesus in the final analysis.  Those non-Jewish people may be the referred to 'dogs' as easily as anyone else.  But consider the scripture referred to:

14 “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. 15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you[a] this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

  Rev 22:14-16

In the Gospels, when Jesus sent out his disciples a second time, he told them to take some provisions (unlike the first time) and be as clever as 'foxes'.  Foxes (I looked up Gray Foxes) have 66 pairs of Chromosomes, according to the sites I looked at.  That number, 66, is found in the Bible in association with 'God's people' being in great danger, or being rescued from great danger by God, escaping just ahead of the wrath that befalls those who oppose or reject Him.  The Protestants have 66 books in their Bible, and it saves God's people.  The Christians fled Jerusalem in A.D. 66 just ahead of the final Roman siege and destruction.  There were 66 people that came with Jacob to join Joseph in Egypt, just in time to escape the deadly drought, to name some instances of the number 66 being associated with God's last-minute salvation of His accepted followers.

To summarize these things, there seems to be surprising numerical correlations between the number of chromosome pairs in the DNA of certain animals and the symbolic Biblical connotation attached to those same animals.  Only God can tell us if He meant that to be so, or if He meant it to one day be noticed.  But God, as creator, certainly knows more about DNA than humans ever will.  Knowing the glorious unlimited unfathomable intelligence of the God we praise and follow, we can only know that He could easily have made the DNA of His creations be symbolically meaningful as well as amazingly functional...if He wished it to be.
