Nov 1, 2010 A.D.:  God Reminds France About Miracles!

The young child fell from the railing near the top where you see the two windows that have dark gray roofing beside them.  You can see the red retractable awning below.  It is a significant distance to fall!

On All Saints Day in Paris, France on November 1, 2010, the Lord seems to have worked and woven one of those beautiful miracles that remind us of how very omnipotent He is.  It was a little bit of a smaller scale miracle perhaps, but so providential that it's a shame not to celebrate it.  After all, every life is precious.

Two adults, parents of two young children, stole away for a quick walk leaving their three-year-old daughter and her 18-month-old brother in their seventh story apartment at 20th Arrondissement.  They perhaps should not have done this by law or common sense, but they did.  And the circumstances were not made clear as to why they had decided to leave for a short time.  Parenting can be hard and sometimes crazy.  This probably wasn't their best parenting day to say the least.

The little boy, the 18-month child, found a way out onto the veranda which had a rail.  But he was small and could slip through the bars of the rail perhaps, or maybe he climbed over, and there he stood outside the rail on the small bit of remaining ledge 70 feet up above the sidewalk.

Across the street a doctor named Phillippe Bensignor (or Bensignot, I found both names used) was in the company of his son when the boy pointed across the street and told his dad to look at the toddler at the edge of the veranda high up in the apartment across the way!  The doctor said that he saw it and rushed across the street to below the edge of an awning that was directly below the toddler.  It was the awning for a small cafe and tobacco shop at the base of the apartments.  He then saw the toddler lose his footing and fall off the edge of the veranda, plummeting downward.

Doctor Bensignor, positioned in what he hoped was a good place, reported that he told himself, "Whatever happens, I must not miss him!!"

The toddler crashed into the awning in the perfect spot, such that he did not hit upon the metal support skeleton that awnings typically have, but in a spot where there was only the canvas.  But he bounced pretty high.

The doctor kept his eyes locked upon the small body and adjusted his position perfectly.  The baby dropped into his arms, and he safely caught him.  The boy began crying for a while at first, but then soon fell asleep.  Yet a cursory examination by the doctor showed no damage though the boy was placed on an ambulance and hurried to a hospital just to make sure.  It was determined at the hospital that he was, amazingly, uninjured by his fall.

Upstairs, neighbors quickly made their way to the apartment entrance and talked the boy's three-year-old sister to the locked door where she worriedly informed them that her brother had fallen off the balcony.  They kept talking to her, keeping her there near the door and away from the veranda, until they could force the door open and enter to ensure that she didn't do as her little brother had done.  They kept her from harm in that manner.

Her parents soon returned from their walk and reportedly burst out into tears when they were told what had occurred during their brief absence.  They were taken into custody by the police at that time.

It did not turn out so bad as it ought to have, and Yahweh surely is to be praised for it all!  It was a beautiful miracle that the boy had fallen 60 feet and hit an awning instead of the sidewalk.  And he was very fortunate to have struck the awning where there was only canvas.  Hitting a structural element of the awning might have killed or crippled him.  The boy could have easily enough died when he bounced off the canvas of the awning and then fell towards the sidewalk, but God had placed a man there to catch the boy.... a man who positioned himself perfectly and then successfully caught him safely in his arms.  So, there were many miracles when you look at it!  But....

It turns out that the awning was retracted whenever the cafe was closed, because people up above sometimes threw cigarettes down upon it, so the owner instructed his workers to retract it whenever the business was closed.  And the business was closed...it was All Saints Day, a bank holiday in France.  But, when the workers had tried to retract the awning the evening before, its retraction mechanism had stuck.  They had been unable to roll it up for the holiday, so they had been forced to leave it fully extended.  And so, the awning was there, exactly where it needed to be, to keep a young boy from perishing, to keep a little girl from losing her brother, to keep some parents, however unwise they might have been that day, from losing their precious child and having their life changed forever.

And all of this brings up the question:  how you can not love and praise a God that can do all of that!  He really knows how to celebrate All Saints Day, a day which celebrates those many people who have been specially guided and specially directed, called, or chosen by God so that they could do great things for their fellow human beings as God's empowered servants.  And on such a day our Holy Father reached out to show a doubt filled and faith famished world of His continuing power to save today, just as in days past.  Praise to Jesus, the true Son of God, born of a virgin as prophesied, God made into 'man in the flesh', through whom our Father saves souls, and sometimes even bodies!

Hello,

My name is Dan Curry and I just wanted to make brief mention of something to you, if you will spare a minute.

I personally believe that realizing how many great deeds of God have actually occurred through out history will lead some people to be saved giving their life to Christ.  If you agree, then please, take the time to be a 'missionary', to love your neighbor enough to care about their soul.  Please mention and recommend visiting the Deeds of God website on any social media sites that you belong to.  Tell a favorite account to your friends or family, and tell them where you read it.  To know God is to stand in awe of Him, but too few people know Him today.  Accounts like these are yet another way to come to know Jesus and the Holy Father, and the Spirit of Truth that helps us understand.  Thank you.  Dan Curry
