2013 A.D.:  God's Humor?  Our DNA

I believe that God guides history in many...perhaps all.... ways.  Who knows where it starts and stops?  So, sometimes something will strike you as humorous if you think that way because you will wonder if God decided to leave his calling card in some anecdotal way in some odd spot.  He is so much smarter than we could ever know, right?  But a person's mind can decide it 'sees' something where God never intentionally meant or left anything to be seen.  So, again, you never know about things.  But, for whatever it's worth, this is a little bit cool!

We are formed via DNA, right?  That's one of the mechanisms God uses.  So, we always just say DNA because it's easy to say, but we remember that it's really DEOXYRIBONUCLEIC ACID.  We were taught that back in school, right?  But Eve, as Genesis tells us, was formed from something taken out of Adam's side after God had put him to sleep.  Most of the time we say that Eve was made from a RIB BONE.  Of course, she was probably actually formed via DNA in some respects, even though God formed her individually, I mean.  Even if God formed her from a rib, He almost certainly equipped her with fairly normal DNA, right?  She was able to provide it to her sons and daughters.

So, I noticed that inside the word DEOXYRIBONUCLEIC ACID you can just about find the words RIB BONE, right?  deoxy RIBON ucleic acid.  RIBON?....RIB BONE?  It's not there perfectly by any means.  And is it coincidence?  I'm sure most people would say it was.

The first 3 letters in DEOxyribonucleaic acid are DEO, and this is, as chance would have it, the Latin word for God.  A particular example of its use offered by one certain WIKIPEDIA page was 'Gloria in excelsis deo' meaning 'glory in the highest to God'.  DEO means GOD in Latin, God is the author of life, and one of His names in Latin...DEO...was placed - apparently by pure accident - at the beginning of the proper name for DNA, which is the chemical God used to form life.

After the letters DEO in the word deoxyribonucleic acid are the letters 'X' and 'Y'.... the classic letters used for the 23rd human chromosome, the one that determines gender and therefore allows for new life on the fleshly plane.  Males have a 23rd chromosome shaped like a letter 'Y', and for females the 23rd looks more like a letter 'X'.  Also, an 'X' is a cross of sorts, and a 'Y' looks a little like the shape of a crucified person.  In that aspect it might call to mind the crucifixion of Jesus, which provided a path to eternal life for fallen and sinful mankind.  A 'Y' on an 'X' can produce a pregnancy, and eventually a baby!  New life!  A 'crucified man' ('Y' shape?) on a 'cross' ('X' shape) did this also.  Men could be given a new life through Jesus, who was, for a time, a man on a cross.  So many of the concepts of 'LIFE' seem to be incorporated into this one word, DEOXYRIBONUCLEIC ACID, which as circumstance and history would have it, became the word we use for the biological substance so closely associated with life.

God's 'Man and Woman' Rib Bone.  Deo's 'Man and Woman' Construction Material. (the 'rib bone' was the 'construction material' that He used to build Eve, just as DNA is the construction material that holds the design code God used for building men and women.)  Deo's X & Y Rib Bone.

And here is just a thought.... Jesus carried a cross, a real cross up the hill, and He was crucified on it.  It was His burden and He carried along the hard and tortuous path.  It was His burden to bear.  Back in Moses' day, the people of God wandered the Sinai for 40 years, and as God led them, they marched in a certain formation:  3 tribes to the North, 3 tribes to the South, 3 tribes to the East, and 3 tribes to the West.  From the air, they would have looked like a cross.  Well, in the A.D. centuries the people of God were the Christians, we Christians believe.  And we are 'the people of the cross' in a way.  And Jesus and the Holy Father have guided His people through the long torturous path of the church's walk through the centuries.  They have 'carried us'.  They have brought the church through its trials and foibles towards the place of its final trial, spoken of in Revelation.

That's much like what Jesus did with His wooden cross.  So, in lots of ways, it seems at least somewhat fitting that there is an 'X' and a 'Y' in the word Deoxyribonucleic acid.  New life came from Jesus' side while he was up on the cross (the water and the blood that came out when the Roman speared His body) just as new life came out of Adam's side when God withdrew the materials from which He had decided to construct Eve, Adam's suitable helper.  The 'church', Jesus' suitable helper, came from His side in much the same way, through water and through blood.

But, just for further thought, our DNA employs Adenine, Cytosine, Thymine, and Guanine to do its work, right?  These chemicals combine to form our genes, which are the blueprint of life, some say.

Many people today, baffling as it is, believe that life just invented its own self, or arose by accident.  Others believe that life was conceived, designed, and formed by our Maker, that LIFE is an ACT of God.  So, isn't it also interesting that the building blocks of life were, through whatever circumstance, named Adenine, Cytosine, Thymine, and Guanine?  Because the first letters of 'A'denine, 'C'ytosine, and 'T'hymine form the word ACT.  And the first letter in 'G'uanine is also the first letter in the name 'God', by which we refer to Yahweh, the author of LIFE!  'A' 'C' 'T' of 'G'od.  We Christians, and many others, believe that LIFE is an ACT of God.  The building blocks of the plan for life (our DNA) actually form an acronym of sorts for that very phrase 'ACT of God'.

And as a final thought to ponder concerning what may be a reminder of the profound depth of our God's mysteries, there is this:

We have these 23 chromosomes that form us humans that God created...us 'people of God', so to speak.  We come from these four building blocks...A, C, T, and G, right?  Take a look at Luke chapter 3, where beginning in verse 23 (note the number 23!) there is a list called the Genealogy of Christ (interesting how the number 23 relates to genes) which following verses form a father to son-to-son link from Jesus back to Adam.  Adam is human person number one, and Jacob/Israel is person number 23 chronologically (note the 23, and recall that humans have the 23 chromosomes that form us!') as 'chance' would have it.  And Jacob, generation number 23, had four wives through which he fathered his 12 sons (note the '4', just as there are 4 building blocks, A,C,T, &G, which form humans) and these 12 sons became the founders of the 12 tribes of Israel, the Old Testament 'people of God'.  And some medical texts hold that humans have 12 physical systems (note the number 12, just as Jacob had 12 sons who formed the 12 tribes of Israel the People of God, or just as Jesus had 12 Apostles who formed the Church which is the 'body of Christ').  These are those 12 medical systems composing a human as you might find them divided into in some medical texts:  1) the skin, 2) the muscular, 3) the cardiovascular, 4) the skeletal, 5) the digestive, 6) the respiratory, 7) the urinary, 8) the reproductive, 9) the blood, 10) the nervous, 11) the sensory, and 12) the glandular.

It's something quite interesting to think about.  God may have built various things to be in reflection of other things long before man would ever gather enough medical knowledge to make the comparison possible.  Maybe it is there, like a long-buried treasure of knowledge, like a tribute to his unfathomable brilliance, and has been there all along.

Is this perhaps an example of God's wit and wisdom?  Who can say?

 Hello,

I personally believe that realizing how many great deeds of God have actually occurred through out history will lead some people to be saved giving their life to Christ.  If you agree, then please, take the time to be a 'missionary', to love your neighbor enough to care about their soul.  Please mention and recommend visiting the Deeds of God website on any social media sites that you belong to.  Tell a favorite account to your friends or family, and tell them where you read it.  To know God is to stand in awe of Him, but too few people know Him today.  Accounts like these are yet another way to come to know Jesus and the Holy Father, and the Spirit of Truth that helps us understand.  Thank you.  Dan Curry
