2012 A.D.:  The Cobra....a very iconic snake.... shows interesting markings!

The serpent (Satan disguised?) was the bringer of sin to humanity.  He tricked Eve in the Garden of Eden.  He fooled the woman.  She then fooled the man.  It was our first betrayal of God!

And ever since then the snake has been one of the chief - perhaps the most prominent - symbols of sin.  Scripture uses the snake / serpent to denote and represent sin quite a few times.

So, the snake is perhaps the most iconic symbol of sin.

And there are many poisonous serpents.  But perhaps the most widely recognized is the COBRA.  They are pretty in a way, with their handsome hood.  They are the world's longest venomous snake, at up to 18 feet according to some sources.  And there are several species of COBRA, and they vary some in size, habits, and appearance.

So, I'm suggesting that the snake is often a symbol of evil, Satan, and sin in scripture.  And I believe that the COBRA is perhaps the most iconic - the most widely recognized - of poisonous snakes in the world.  And God would have known all such things as this long before they ever came to be true.

So, how about sin:  we are said to be 'prisoners' to sin.  We are said to be' shackled' to sin.  We are said to be in the 'bondage' of sin.  All this is true of us sinners.  When we are in sin's grip, we are its slave or prisoner in a sense.

There is another concept of sin, of evil, of Satan:  The 'watcher', the 'evil eye' which seeks for men that it can induce to sin.  The one who goes through the world like a hungry lion looking for victims, seeking who it can slay.  The symbol of the single eye - not really a symbol employed in scripture much - is used in many places in our world, supposedly for innocent reasons, but it has long been known as an occultic symbol as well.  "THE EVIL EYE!!"

So, is it just me, or do the hoods of certain types of COBRA show symbols that classically relate to sin, to evil, to Satan?  Aren't there symbols that look almost exactly like an eye, and almost exactly like a pair of leg shackles on the hoods of certain types of COBRA?  If so, how wise God is when He designed things.... how prescient He always has been!  God truly is great and mighty beyond the human's ability to even begin to fully appreciate.  Who can say what is all around us still, but not yet even noticed.  I'll bet we'll be blown away one day when we see the full extent of the things, He placed around us but which we did not notice.

But, anyway, do these Cobra markings look like leg shackles, or cuffs?

And how about this type of COBRA - the 'Manacled Cobra'?  As is apparent from its name, it has the suggestion of an eye on the back of its hood.  It is quite similar to the 'evil eye' that is a widespread occultic symbol in various parts of the world, and sometimes associated with Satanic cults:

Here below is an imagined 'evil eye' symbol on the left, and an 'evil eye' amulet such as is sold in various regions of the world:

It's subjective, but the Cobra truly could be interpreted to be the bearer of some of our most classic symbols of sin, just as a snake itself (though a creature made by God) has become a symbol of sin and was used as such scripturally in several cases.  Did God purposely fit it with the signs?  Only God knows.
