The Two State Solution

Israel and Palestine.  At this date and time the governing powers of Europe and the United States are zeroing in on the particulars of the Two State Solution.  That's where Israel (think 'apple of God's eye') will be forcefully chained to Palestine (think 'has terrorist organizations that want to make 'apple sauce' ') so that there will be peace and love and brotherhood between them forever as they share the land of the state of Israel, peacefully as bunnies in a basket.

As for the United States, now under President Barack Obama's revisionist reign, we can easily think back to our own two state solution:  the Southern states decided to secede in the 1860's, and so they formed their own Government under Jefferson Davis.  How did that 'two state' movement work out?  So heinous, so unpalatable, so horrendous, so unthinkable, so blasphemous, so painful to the eyes of God was this option in the opinion of the President of the United States and the Northern States that they declared war upon the South, (well, it was just about mutual)  and quite readily accepted a death toll that ran into the hundreds of thousands rather than to be forcefully made a part of a 'two state solution' by the South's successions.

That's how badly America (at least it's Northern States) have traditionally hated the idea of a 'two state solution'. For ourselves, that is.  And that was when the other half of the 'solution', for each side, was speaking their language, worshipping the same God in the same way, and there was not one of the sides declaring loudly to the world that the other half must be wiped off the face of the planet forever.

Anyone who would not chain a mountain lion to a pit bull should understand the concept of 'inherent incompatibility' enough to realize that Israel and a Palestinian state have the same sort of problems in dealing with each other.  The real truth is that in nature, quite disparate sorts of animals can learn to be quite good friends if they are brought into the relationship a certain manner.  They far outshine humans in this area in some cases.  So, it would not actually surprise me if a pit bull and a mountain lion could live as friends, if raised together since birth or brought together in a certain way.  But if either animal had the destruction of the other animal as one of its primary goals, then it's a no brainer that that is one 'reluctant couple' that is not going to co-exist for long.  And that is the case with Israel combining with a Palestinian state and its militia/terror groups.  There isn't going to be peace, and everyone knows it quite well, because one of the groups has vowed to destroy the other.  Not a tough concept.  Only a plan devised - on the spiritual level - by Satan would force Israel to absorb that which would gleefully destroy it.

How about 'life' v.s. 'death'.  That's two states, right?  The living are in a different state than the dead, right?  So, if the terrorist organizations of 'Palestine' have loudly proclaimed that the world would be better off if the Israelis were 'dead', and if we assume that they would, in their afore-said dream scenario, remain 'alive', then we can count on the Palestinians cooperation in establishing a 'two state solution'.  Their terrorist organizations have one in mind already, it seems.  They've announced as much.

Israel occupies a land that was given to them by God Himself, with the borders specified pretty plainly back in the time of Moses.

And when Babylon conquered Judah and Jerusalem beginning in about 606 B.C., the people were taken away hostage for about 70 years, fulfilling God's prophecy that they would be punished for 70 years for their evil deeds and unfaithfulness to their own true God.  But when those days of punishment ended, Media and Persia conquered Babylon, and the people of Judah were allowed by those conquerors to return to Israel and Jerusalem to rebuild the ruined cities. Ezra and Nehemiah are the books of the Bible which tell most of that story.  That return happened about 2,500 years ago, in the late 6th century B.C.  So, what did Nehemiah have to say about who owned Israel and Jerusalem?  He ought to have known, right?  After all, God was with them in their rebuilding effort.  So, Nehemiah is a man whose words have some authority, since God blessed his work.  Here is one thing Nehemiah said.  It is from Nehemiah 2:17 - 20.  Nehemiah is encouraging the people in Jerusalem to get serious about rebuilding their city, and to not be deterred until it is done.  Here is how he spoke to them:  how he spoke to the priests or nobles or officials or any others who would be doing the work.

17 Then I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace.” 18 I also told them about the gracious hand of my God on me and what the king had said to me.

They replied, “Let us start rebuilding.” So, they began this good work.

19 But when Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite official and Geshem the Arab heard about it, they mocked and ridiculed us. “What is this you are doing?” they asked. “Are you rebelling against the king?”

20 I answered them by saying, “The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding, but as for you, you have no share in Jerusalem or any claim or historic right to it.”

     End Quote

So, in Nehemiah's day, over 500 years before Jesus, this man Nehemiah, who was apparently in the full favor of God, told the Arabs, the Horonites, and the Ammonites of his time that they had no share in Jerusalem, and no historic right to it.  They are not noted to have argued about that point.  But who were these people?  Well, Arabs then are Arabs now, so far as I have ever heard - Arabs have a long tradition as a people.  They know their path clear back to Noah, along some lines.  The Ammonite was quite likely from Ammon, a city now in Jordan, so Nehemiah was telling the Jordanians of that time that Jerusalem was not their land, if that is so.  And when I looked up the ethnic background of 'Horonites' it appears that this man spoken of is believed to be of Persian descent.  So, if he's Persian, today that would be mostly Iran.

This means that 2500 years ago, Nehemiah, who rebuilt Jerusalem with the help and blessing of God Almighty, told a Persian, an Arab, and a Jordanian that Jerusalem was not a city that they had any right to.  And it stuck.  Jerusalem was rebuilt against their wishes.  Jerusalem was rebuilt, fortified, and occupied by Jews and for Jews, along with other Israelites.  Jews sort of referred more to the tribe of Judah, then Benjamin, with its Levites and also whoever of the other tribes and outsiders had chosen or been allowed to take up their residence in the Judahite lands.

But then, long after Nehemiah's time, God became angry at them again, (more than once actually, but I will speak of Rome in 70 A.D.) and sent them out of it as a conquered people.

But then (the story of the Jews has a lot of 'But then's )....about 2000 years later, He brought them back...to stay.

So, now they are back.  And they want to both stay alive and stay where they are currently parked.  That is, after all, the will of God as He distinctly illustrated in all of the recent wars Israel was involved in.  And since they can only afford to lose one war in a region that hates their guts for not a single reason that I can fathom, Israel is in favor of a solution for themselves and the Palestinians that leaves them both alive ('alive' is one state only).  That means that they cannot have Palestine (which contains elements that would excitedly welcome Israel's demise) as a powerful enemy nation growing within their bosom.  Lots of us saw the movie 'Alien', and we know that it is bad to have something that hates you growing inside of your bosom.

So, since the USA hates multiple state solutions anyway, and since most of the USA is Christian and does not want to see Israel shackled to a nation that contains elements which have vowed their destruction, let us reconsider our current insane course. When God looks down upon Israel, the nation that He purposely chose as His own in order to show all other nations the great advantages of being under the protection of His endless power and in the warm embrace of His enduring blessings,....when He looks down upon Israel, let him not see the USA trying to force His chosen children into a marriage with those who have sworn their destruction.

Didn't someone once say that a 'house divided cannot stand'?  Oh yes.  And it was not just anyone who said it.  Jesus mentioned the concept!  And our own esteemed (but vastly lesser than Jesus) President Abraham Lincoln was among those who strongly seconded the sentiment.  He used it as part of his justification for rejecting the Old South's 'two state solution'.

So, if we historically have known quite well that a divided house cannot stand, why are we trying to ensure that Israel becomes a divided house?  Can God possibly fail to number the USA among those nations that are trying to destroy His children Israel?

We must not allow ourselves to be among those that try to bully Israel into such a poisonous marriage.  No God loving nation should take any part what-so-ever in such an attack on the Apple of God's Eye.  The punishment at God's hands is likely to be too severe to bear.... way too severe to bear.  It will be surprising if He does not fracture our nation in the same way we are trying to fracture Israel.

Or are we already seeing signs that we are drifting away from God's favor by being rebellious towards Him, and unsolicitous of obtaining and guarding His good opinion and benevolence towards us?  Like most Americans, I don't want to live in a nation that Yahweh and Jesus are angry with, yet I do want to live in a God fearing and respecting America.  That's our national path to avoiding God's wrath if we are smart enough to take it:  we need to try to see things as He tells us He sees them and do things as we've been told that He wants them done.

After all, it's not like someone so incalculably intelligent as God our Father doesn't truly and actually know what's best for us.  And we know how much He loves all men:  He sent His only Son to tell us.  And we killed Him.
